What is The Village Feast?

The Village Feast is more than a meal—it’s a mission. This annual event run by caring volunteers unites communities in celebration and giving, with proceeds supporting both local and global initiatives. Funds raised help organizations like Farmers Helping Farmers, Souris Food Bank, Souris Community Fridge, Coats for Kids and the Souris School Regional Breakfast Program. Together, we’re making a difference, one plate at a time. Help us, Help Kids!

In 2024, The Village Feast raised over $31,000 to support:

  • Souris Regional School: $10,000
  • Souris Food Bank: $7000
  • Coats for Kids: $2000
  • Community Fridge: $3000
  • Farmers Helping Farmers – Kenyan Schoolhouse Cookhouse Gardeners: $7000

Farmers Helping Farmers: A Global Impact

With contributions from The Village Feast, Farmers Helping Farmers funds school cookhouses in Kenya, providing students with two daily meals—nutritious porridge in the morning and githeri, a hearty maize-and-bean stew, for lunch. These cookhouses have transformed schools, boosting attendance, improving academic performance, and keeping students nourished and focused.

To date, over 6 million meals have been served to 5,700 children daily, thanks to initiatives supported by The Village Feast.
